um
Wow, so I've been failing hardcore at this journal thing. And yes, it's because of Tumblr. I'm sorry!! Really. After all these years...

But I'm not shutting this down; I just want to apologize for how dead it's been and how little I've been commenting on lj/dw stuff. I'm super active on Tumblr so if you want to hang out more hit me up there.

But it did. I've... been super active on tumblr lately, and this is probably the way it's going to be from here on out. So... hit me up there!

I'll still be around here, commenting and occasionally posting, but yeah, tumblr and twitter are where I'm going to be more often.

See you there! ♥

So I've just done a fairly large flist cut. If I've defriended you, it's not because I dislike you; I've just cut mostly people I either have nothing in common with anymore, or we never interact, or you haven't updated in more than a year, or I can't remember who you are when I see your username /o\

If you feel you've been defriended in error, just let me know in the comments here (which will be screened).

"If Malkin didn't cross himself, we'd take his assumed Jewishness and run with it, commenting how glad we'd be if he took Sidney Crosby into the fold."

Even Jew Or Not Jew ships it! (And yes, that's a real site, dedicated to figuring out which celebrities/historical figures/etc. are Jewish and which, despite appearances to the contrary, are not. The answers are sometimes surprising.)

Other revelations: plain yoghurt, strawberries, and cashews = THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER.

This is a mix based on, and a tribute to, a novel I read when I was about 14, called The Greengage Summer. It was written by English author Rumer Godden in "1958 ... a lush coming of age novel that [focusses on] the five Grey children virtually on their own in France. Their father is a botanist and seldom home, so their long-suffering mother marches them to the champagne country of the Marne for summer holiday, intending that they should be edified by seeing 'what other people have given.' The bedraggled troupe arrive at a hotel named Les Oeillets where the proprietress, Mademoiselle Zizi, is horrified at the sight of them. Her 'special friend,' the cheerful Englishman Eliot, arranges for Mrs. Grey to have hospital care and appoints himself guardian of the children.

The eldest, sixteen-year-old Joss, is taken to bed for some time with a stomach upset. That leaves her thirteen-year-old sister Cecil, our narrator, in charge (so to speak) of the three younger children. They spend their days roaming the gardens, gorging themselves on plums in the greengage orchard, picnicking along the river, and getting their noses into everything while remaining invisible to the adults who don't want to see them anyway. Their slim command of French just adds to the hazy, exotic quality of their holiday."

Music, art, downloads and more under the cut.Collapse )

So for the past year-ish I've been using this userscript, LJ comments thread subscribe, to subscribe to select threads (needless to say, this has been amazing for tracking commentfics and such). But recently it's not working: the button to subscribe to the thread, rather than the entire entry, is greyed-out and unclickable.

Does anyone know of any other scripts, preferably for Chrome, that would perform this same function? I will bake you a cake if you can help!

Fuck, I'm just going to cosign what meiface wrote and go take a shower. I'm seeing Avengers tonight with a guy who is not a total douche, so I'm going to think about that instead.

My most recent mix won Mod's Choice over at waywardmixes, a fanmix challenge community that's been a lot of fun so far. I'm really pleased, as this is the first honour I've received :)
